Irene Regalario, M.A.
Hello! My name is Irene Regalario and I am a 5th year graduate student in the clinical psychology program at George Mason University and excited to serve as a clinical extern for MOAT!
Prior to clinical psychology, my training was in health and nursing. I worked with individuals and families both inpatient and outpatient who showed me what it means to have strength and resilience in the face of challenging times. More specifically, I was intrigued by the support systems that helped individuals during these times. My doctoral training in clinical psychology has helped me to further explore what it means to have great strength and resilience by working with individuals who show just that every time I walk into the therapy room.
I’ve learned that with evidence-based treatment and, importantly, in building connections with clients, I get to take part in and see people overcome incredible challenges with great fervor. My clinical interests are in anxiety, adjustment and grief. Specifically, I am work with individuals in managing chronic pain, adjusting to new medical conditions, caregiver stress, and life transitions. My hope is that in our time together we build a connection in which you feel comfortable to process these experiences and feel confident to take on these life stressors.
In my spare time, I enjoy singing, listening to music, photography, and trying new food (yes, I am a big foodie!).
I work under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Young and am excited to work with you!
I am able to work with clients in MD and VA.
